GEO Princess Mimi Sesame Grey WMM-305 (Review)

GEO Princess Mimi Sesame Grey WMM-305 (Review)

Creatures! First of all, I'm so sorry for being a serial procrastinator, I know I said I was going to post a new review soon after the XCK-105 review and I've been rubbish. Partly because I've had 3485696834 things going on in life and partly because I kept forgetting to charge my camera. No camera, no photos, no review. Well, I could have done a review full of words but it would have been pretty dire. Anyway, NO EXCUSES. I have had a serious talk with myself about the fact that I just ought to crack on and get this done.

Oh do I have a special treat in store for you! Today I'll be moving away from the black circle lenses and introducing a splash of colour. Sort of. We're venturing into slightly more exotic territory in this review and we'll be looking at the GEO Princess Mimi circle lenses in Sesame Grey (WMM-305)

As always, I bought these from www.iwantcute.com and I think they were about £15, maybe a little less..Super speedy delivery, recommend 100%.

S.S's verdict?

I know I've said this about the other two GEO circle lenses I reviewed but I really do love these. I love them all for different reasons and these Sesame Greys are my favourites of the non-brown/black lenses. If I feel like changing my eye colour dramatically, out of the greens and blues that I own, these are definitely my go-to lenses.

The enlargement factor is one of the main reasons as to why I love them. This is one of the larger models and at 15mm, the lenses are definitely noticeable both in natural and artificial lighting. More so in artificial lighting (flash photography) because the brown from my real eyes does come through the pupil hole of these lenses. I'm pretty sure that these lenses would look incredible on someone who has light eyes naturally because it's the outer black ring that makes them so pretty, the brown coming through in the centre does ruin it for me a little bit. I would say, these are extremely noticeable and strangers will do a double take when walking past in the street!

Comfort: 3.5/5
These lenses start to irritate my eyes after around 4-5 hours of wear. I'm unsure as to why but they do feel thicker compared to the black models that I have - it may just be that they look thicker because of the colour but I have to say, I can't wear these for as long of a time as I can wear my XCK-105s. After around 4-5 hours I have to use my moisturising eye drops and after around 6 hours I have to take them out. I have no doubt that their large size plays a big part in this, but they're not lenses that I would wear for prolonged periods of time.

Overall:
I would definitely recommend these lenses, especially if you were looking to drastically change your look. These are extremely noticeable in all types of lighting but are beautiful nevertheless. People will stop you and ask you if you are wearing lenses but always end up asking you where you bought them from because they want a pair! Although I commented on their comfort (or lack of over longer periods of time) I still wear these quite often, just make sure you bring your moisturising eye drops out with you in case they start to irritate your eyes! And please remember, never wear circle lenses for prolonged periods of time, and definitely not overnight! I really love these and I refer to them as 'my Megan Fox eyes' because they manage to cover most of the brown from my natural eye colour when most other grey lenses I've tried are never opaque enough to cover my natural eye colour fully. Love them! And as I mentioned before, I am pretty sure these would look incredible on someone who's natural eye colour is a light blue/green because the black outer ring is what makes them truly special.

GEO Ultra Black XCK-105 (Review)

GEO Ultra Black XCK-105 (review)

Hello there you beautiful creatures!

In my previous review I talked about the GEO Black CK-105 circle lenses, in this review, I will be looking at the Ultra XCK-105 model which is the larger version. Just to compare the two models, the penultimate photo towards the end of this post shows both of my eyes wearing one of each.

I bought these ones from www.iwantcute.com for about £15 and have to say, love love love them.

Let's jump straight in with the specification:

Manufacturer: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.8mm
Base curve: 8.6
Water content: 42%
Lens type: 1 year disposable

Are they comfortable? Yes, until approximately 6/7 hours of wear

Difference between the smaller model (CK-105) and this one (XCK-105): The smaller lens is on the left <-- and the larger lens is on the right -->

As you can see from the photo above, the left hand side lens doesn't really touch the bottom of my eye like the lens on the right hand side does. In photos it can be quite difficult to differentiate between the two models but face to face in real life, there is quite a big difference.

S.S' verdict?

I really really love these lenses. I know I said the same about the smaller model in my previous review, but I really REALLY love these, hence why I decided to give them a huge score of 5/5.

The enlargement factor is the main reason why I am so in love with these lenses. I find it quite difficult to find circle lenses that give me that dolly-eye look because my irises are quite large naturally but these definitely do the trick. I choose to only wear these with quite heavy makeup (black pencil liner, liquid liner and false eyelashes) because otherwise, I do look a little alien-like with massive black eyeballs and it doesn't look very natural at all. But hey, if you are going for that alien-like look, these would suit you perfectly!

Comfort: 4/5
I wore these for most of the day on quite a few occasions actually and to be honest, they do get a little irritating more quickly than the smaller lenses, I probably start to feel these in my eyes after around 6-7 hours, nothing painful, I can just start to feel them drying my eyes out a bit! I am sure this is directly linked with the fact they are 14.8mm lenses and they do just slightly sit under my eyelids. I can wear these for most of the day and they sit so comfortably on the iris but I do need to start thinking about the moisturising eye drops after approximately 6-7 hours.

Overall:
I would recommend these 100% if you are looking for that dolly-eye look with a makeup combo or something slightly more obscure without the heavy makeup. These are extremely noticeable both in natural light and especially in artificial light / flash photography so if you were looking for something slightly more 'natural' I would suggest going for the 14.0mm model (CK-105). I don't think I mentioned this, but I really really love them :) Out of all of my lenses, these are the ones I wear all the time, out shopping, to the restaurant and for family get togethers, these are my go-to lenses for sure!

GEO Black CK-105 (Review)

GEO Black CK-105 (Review)

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Can't believe how quickly 2012 flew by!

Secondly, and most importantly: the first ever S.S review is here! I am starting with the GEO Black CK-105 circle contact lenses because they are the ones I have had the longest.

I bought these from Amazon and they came directly from Japan, which took so long I can't even begin to express how excited I was when they finally arrived. Just for the record, I now buy these from a UK based online store: www.iwantcute.com. I would recommend them 100% and although their stock is somewhat limited, between this store and Amazon I tend to always find what I'm looking for. If the circle lenses you are looking for are out of stock, the online store will allow you to set up an email alert so you will be notified when they have re-stocked. Delivery is super quick, I normally get mine within 2 days of having purchased them :)

Now! Down to business.

 Specification:

Manufacturer: GEO Medical
Diameter: 14.0mm
Base curve: 8.6
Water content: 42%
Lens type: 1 year disposable

Are they comfortable? Yes, wore them out for over 8 hours with no issues
How much did S.S love these? S.S score = 4/5

Wearing both circle lenses, artificial light (this is what they look like if you take a photo with the flash on)

This is what they look like in very (VERY!) artificial lighting - bright lights + camera flash

S.S' verdict?

I have to say, I really like these lenses. I only gave them a score of 4/5 because the enlargement isn't really noticeable. Of course, it would be more noticeable if your natural iris is smaller than mine, I have quite big eyes anyway so finding circle lenses that give me that really obvious dolly like enlargement is quite difficult. I need at least a 14.8mm lens for people to really notice and these are only a 14.0mm.

However, the fact that they have quite a small diameter means that they can be worn out both at night and in natural daylight without freaking out passers by. Generally, strangers will do a double take as you walk by just because your eyes will look 'unusual' but they are not by any means ridiculously obvious so you don't have to worry about walking out of your house looking like an alien!

Comfort: 5/5
I wore these out clubbing from around 6pm until around 5am the next morning (please never go to sleep whilst wearing lenses, I was clubbing so awake the entire time!) and they didn't irritate my eyes at all until around 4am, but then again, I was SUPER tired so I wouldn't blame it entirely on the lenses. They didn't dry out so much that I had to take them out though, it was just beginning to get a little irritating, that's all.

Overall:
I would definitely recommend these if you were looking for the not so obvious dolly-eye look. They are amongst the smaller of the GEO circle lenses at 14.0mm but for me, look great in all types of lighting. They are quite obvious in photos if using flash but again, I quite like the fact that they look a little dramatic in photos. I actually own the Ultra XCK-105 model as well which is exactly the same but much more obvious at 14.8mm, I will be doing a review of those shortly!

To infinity and beyond!

Hello there fellow earthlings!

This is my first official post, yes, we are now LIVE! I'm pretty sure I assured almost everyone in my life that this blog would be up and running by the end of November, my apologies for procrastinating - as time goes on, you will learn that this is the norm. If I was a superhero, I would definitely be called 'The Procrastinator'.

So, what will this infamous creature be blogging about on a regular basis? My main purpose on this blog will be to review a range of beauty products for you all. I say main purpose because I can't guarantee that the weird and wonderful events that take place in my life will not find a way to slither into my posts :)

To keep this shorter than it could be, I will be focusing on Circle contact lenses in the first instance but will be venturing out into the world of hair extensions and cosmetics as this blog develops.

And of course, feel free to contact me at any point via the FB/Twitter buttons, email or by commenting on here if I have posted something that makes absolutely no sense.

S.S signing out!
